My first thought every morning is “Maybe today is the day.”

Maybe today I will discover something so compelling and so wonderful that it will change popular culture and enrich lives. Something grand and beautiful and thrilling.

I’m a junkie for that moment. It’s rare.

I’ve spent my life managing musicians and music companies in different capacities, but one thing has never changed:

When an artist is onstage, there is nobody between them and the fans — no manager, no label, no publicists. Nobody.

I wake up every day hell-bent on bringing the two together.

I’ve always said our lives are shaped by choices, but sometimes we don’t make those choices ourselves. Truth be told, I didn’t choose music. Music chose me. It’s a lifelong bond, and I’ve been blessed in my career to serve a community of creative innovators who chose to share their truth through music. I don’t just love what I do, I live what I do. So, as art is created, art will be protected. Welcome to 300 Entertainment.

I can’t think of a better way to spend a day than in the company of musicians and their work. I’ve been doing this in some form or other for more than two decades and it still feels like a dream.

Music has inspired and defined me all my life. I can’t sing and never learned an instrument, so I went to law school where I quickly realized how important my contribution could be in defining the relationship between the recording artist and their label. Thankfully I didn’t have the courage to try and be a musician. My complete lack of musical ability has allowed me to do the next best thing.

If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music. ~ Albert Einstein

“What do you do?” It’s a question I get a lot, but there’s always a few seconds before I can articulate an answer. Within those 4 seconds I stop and remember, “I work with music!” When I first set out to find a career in the industry, I didn’t have a road map to follow, but I had a lot of fuel. Being a part of 300 is the start of a beautiful adventure; and like any proper road trip, the most important part is the soundtrack!

With music, you often don’t have to translate it. It just affects you, and you don’t know why. ~DAVID BYRNE

When I was a kid I spent every dollar I earned at a local record store in Minneapolis. The Replacements, Miles Davis, Elvis, Tom Waits…. I ate up all of it.

Somehow, I was lucky enough to land a gig at a record label and here I am, twenty-plus years later, with a backstage pass still around my neck. It’s a rare and beautiful thing to watch a band go from tiny clubs, snowballing fan by fan, to end up ripping it in front of 50,000 adoring people.

I’ve had a front-row seat to this kind of history, and I won’t stop. I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of a company focused on the future, not stopping, not accepting the status quo…a company that will make history.

My path towards this industry was certainly not conventional, but I don’t think anyone’s really is. In following and trusting my passion for music, I’ve wound up working with some of the most inspiring individuals I’ve ever met. I’m blessed to wake up each day with the chance to change people’s lives through music. It constantly changes mine.

Through some elusive tangible process, music cuts through all defenses and makes sense of every fear and desire you bring to it. As it does, it exposes all you’ve held back, and then makes sense of that too…with a clarity life denies for its own good reasons, you see places to which you can never get…~ Greil Marcus

I couldn’t agree more.

Starting with my accidental discovery of Elvis Presley as a teenager, music has consistently held a profoundly important place my life. So helping foster an artist’s career, helping them reach the widest possible audience, is the most fulfilling work I can imagine. It’s a privilege I take very seriously and never lose sight of – that passion for me remains steadfast..

Ever since I was a child, music stimulated my mind and it quickly became my passion. As a broadcast journalism major in college, I used music to sharpen and expand my creativity in my writing and presentations. To see an amazing band or singer perform live is to feel the energy of the performers and the crowd, an experience that is unparalleled. To work in the industry that has driven me all my life is an honor. Working with 300 is my way to pay it back – to help inspire others with great music.

When I left home, my parents couldn’t understand why I would work for free. The simple answer is that I was willing to forgo everything for the chance to work in this business. I started in publicity, where I found inspiration in promoting quality talent. I want to help influence the foundations of popular culture, specifically to encourage the idea that mainstream doesn’t have to be the lowest common denominator.

Little did I know that when I got hit over the head by punk rock at age 14, it would take me down such a brilliantly unpredictable path. To get to work one day in this business was surreal. To end up doing this for a living is humbling.

My love for music has been a constant driving force throughout my life. I spent massive amounts of time reciting rhymes in the mirror. I dedicated my 10th grade Spanish class to argue with classmates about who’s the best MC. I came to New York and called record labels every single day for an entire summer until I got an internship. An executive at my first music industry job asked me why I’m always smiling. My answer to her was “I’m just happy to be here”.

I have always been drawn to beauty so I spent a long time floating around the art world — various internships, a BA in photography, an archaeological dig in Rome, and a stint in a multimedia collective where I captured that profound moment when a musician is truly in their element. I guess all those things helped lead me where I am today. Unsurprisingly, it all comes back to music. 300 is creating a new context in the music business. That’s exactly where I want to be.

Every great work of art has two faces, one toward its own time and one toward the future, toward eternity. ~ Lester Bangs

There’s nothing quite like the joy of sharing a new experience with someone, whether it’s a record or a live show. To do that professionally is a rare privilege. There are an estimated 7 billion people on this Earth, and I will not rest until every single one of them owns a copy of “Blonde on Blonde.”
